Three weeks after Ballygunner won the 2021 Waterford title, they played Sarsfields from Cork in a challenge game. With Ballygunner not playing the Clare champions in the Munster quarter-final for another five weeks, they’d taken two weeks off the county final before pitching up against Sars. And the Cork side ran through them.
