Gaels' resurgence falls short as Pearses keep composure to secure silverware in Roscommon 

Roscommon Gaels' 20-year wait for a 19th county title goes on but Pádraig Pearses could yet be a significant factor in the AIB Connacht Club championship when it gets underway next month.

Pádraig Pearses had to dig deep into their pool of experience and composure to see off Roscommon Gaels despite playing much the better football for long stretches of this Roscommon SFC final, after an eight-minute purple patch from the county town side threatened to undo all Pearses’ good work.
