A blow to the Cork footballers is the news that corner-back Kevin Flahive has opted out for 2025 as he is heading to Australia.

Douglas clubman Flahive was a staple of the Cork defence in 2024. After missing most of the 2023 season because of the ruptured cruciate he suffered during the Munster semi-final against Kerry the summer previous, the 28-year-old re-established himself as a first-team regular this year.
