Wexford senior hurling manager Darragh Egan has landed a new managerial role overseas. While Egan has landed a new job it's not what one would have expected as he moves to Abu Dhabi. Having parted ways with Wexford in 2023, he has now accepted a new role in Abu Dhabi.
Along with accepting a new role as Principal in an Abu Dhabi school, the former Wexford senior hurling manager is continuing to share his managerial skills abroad, as he is new manager of the Abu Dhabi Na Fianna hurling team.
Abu Dhabi Na Fianna GAA Club, established in 1995, is the largest GAA club in the Middle East region. The club competes annually in the Middle East League and Championship competitions, which take place in a host of Middle Eastern countries.
Egan's home club, Kildangan, actually up him in 2023 to play in goal for the senior hurling team, stepping up to play a role, slotting over one point from a free, following the dismissal of inter-county keeper Brian Hogan. They defeated Thurles Sarsfields to win the Premier County senior hurling title.
