Data gets a bad rap in modern Gaelic football. It might even be data, some argue, that has tipped the sport into its current state of introspection, about to turn itself inside out to try fix all that has gone wrong with the game.

So a panel discussion in Kerry on data and Artificial Intelligence in sport was bound to throw up intriguing conundrums. It wrapped up an insightful day at the 5th John McCarthy AI Summer School in the RDI hub Killorglin, where industry leaders outlined the knowledge generative AI and wearables can spit out to enhance sporting performance.
