Derry

It is believed Derry are keen to reappoint Rory Gallagher, who is currently coaching Monaghan club Corduff with Seamus McEnaney as manager.

However, because of the sensitivities involved the county may want the green light from higher GAA authorities despite his temporary barring by the Ulster Council being overturned by the Disputes Resolution Authority last February.

Longford

Mike Solan, the former Mayo U20 manager who assisted Andy Moran in Leitrim in 2023 and is currently managing Tourlestrane, has been put forward as the man to replace Paddy Christie.

Meath

Kilmacud Crokes’ Dunshaughlin-based manager Robbie Brennan was quickly installed as favourite to succeed Colm O’Rourke. Brennan has a good relationship with former Meath star Bernard Flynn.

Monaghan

Vinny Corey’s decision to step down after two seasons at the helm leaves a large void. Jason Sherlock was an early consideration although Monaghan could yet approach McEnaney about a third stint.

Tipperary

Late last month, Philly Ryan appeared to be the man to take over from Paul Kelly. Clonmel Commercials man Ryan is expected to be ratified.

Tyrone

The process begins to replace Brian Dooher and Feargal Logan who stepped down on Monday after four seasons in charge.

Malachy O’Rourke is being courted in several counties and Paddy Tally’s name has been linked despite the understanding he was staying with Kerry as coach for a fourth season.

Westmeath

Sherlock, who worked with previous manager Dessie Dolan, will be associated with this position too as will Andy Moran, who stepped away from Leitrim. Current Roscommon coach, Laois man Lar Wall, has been mentioned too as he has been with the Meath vacancy.

Vacancies filled: Carlow (Shane Curran); Kildare (Brian Flanagan); Leitrim (Mickey Graham).

Uncertainties:

Dublin

It’s simply assumed Dessie Farrell will stick with it for a sixth season in 2025 but nothing is certain and yet that is the norm for Dublin. Farrell has another season to go in his current agreement.

Kerry

Mike Quirke has not yet been replaced and there are doubts about Diarmuid Murphy staying on while others like Brendan Kealy are not expected to be involved next season.

Tally is on board as of now but there is an onus on Jack O’Connor to replenish his management team. A meeting between O’Connor and players took place last Monday week.

Mayo

The expectation is Kevin McStay and the current management team will lead Mayo into 2025 but there is a belief among some county board officials that the non-playing group should be refreshed in some form.

The review is ongoing following consultation between the board executive with players and management.

Dublin

Liam Sheedy and Joe Fortune continue to be touted as potential successors to Micheál Donoghue.

Two-time All-Ireland SHC winning manager Sheedy’s work brings him to Dublin regularly, while Fortune lives in the capital and previously managed the county’s U21s and Ballyboden St Enda’s before his three-year spell with Westmeath.

Galway

Micheál Donoghue appeared to be home and hosed for a return to the helm, although it is understood some issues still need ironing out before this Monday’s county board meeting. Whether it is a speed bump or a barrier remains to be seen.

Vacancies filled: Antrim (Davy Fitzgerald); Kerry (John “Tweek” Griffin); Laois (Darren Gleeson); Waterford (Peter Queally); Westmeath (Seoirse Bulfin).
