The draw for the Kerry Senior Football Championship took place on Monday evening.
Reigning county champions East Kerry, who have won four of the last five titles, will face Rathmore in a local derby. Rathmore were recently part of the East Kerry divisional team.
Other intriguing clashes include last year's losing finalists Mid Kerry facing reigning senior club champions Dingle, St Brendan's Board - this season featuring Austin Stacks and Kerins O'Rahillys - facing South Kerry, and the all club clash of Seanie O'Shea and Stephen O'Brien's Kenmare against Tony Brosnan and Gavin White's Dr Crokes.
Unlike recent championships, there are no groups this year. The eight club teams and eight district teams teams entered an open draw.
This year, the eight winning teams from round 1 will be drawn against each other in round 2A. The winners from 2A will progress to the quarter-finals.
The losers from round 1 will be drawn against each other in round 2B with the winning teams from that round facing the losers of 2A in round 3. The winning sides from round 3 will then face the winners of 2A in the quarter-finals.
The format means that each side is guaranteed at least two games.
The championship will commence on the weekend of September 13/14/15. Fixture details will be confirmed by the CCC in the coming weeks.
