Michael Cleary got emotional watching the Laochra Gael episode dedicated to Ciara Gaynor. There were bits and pieces to Tipp’s breakthrough journey he had forgotten. Bits and pieces he was so glad to be reminded of.

The band is back together this weekend at Croke Park. The full panel of history-makers returning to the one field. The 2004 class were in each other’s company at a recent GPA event honouring All-Ireland winning teams from 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years ago. But this Sunday is about the original cast. Those who knew fallow times, and not just final-winning ones.
