Brian Flanagan is set to become the next Kildare senior football boss.

The former player and under-20 manager is to take charge for the next four years and will be put forward for ratification in September.

Flanagan - who led his under-20 charges to Leinster titles in 2022 and 2023 - also secured All-Ireland glory in '23.

He replaces Glenn Ryan at the Kildare helm after Ryan stepped down after the Lillywhites' loss to Laois in this year's Tailteann Cup quarter-finals.

Aidan O'Rourke, this year's Armagh minor coach, as well as former Kildare players Damien Hendy and Daryl Flynn will form part of Flanagan's backroom team.
