Talking Point: How will Murphy police the handpass?

New regulations would add clarity for the referees but that isn’t going to happen before Sunday.

Early in the Dublin-Tipperary league match in Thurles in March 2022, Donal Burke made a brilliant high catch from a Seán Brennan puckout over the head of Robert Byrne. 

Burke immediately off-loaded the ball to John Bellew, but referee Johnny Murphy blew for an illegal handpass as soon as the sliotar had been transferred.
