While refusing to divulge the exact wording of his text to Kieran McGeeney four weeks ago, the message conveyed by Pádraic Joyce to his Armagh counterpart could easily be interpreted.

Following Galway’s success in setting up an All-Ireland final date with Armagh, Pádraic Joyce was asked if he could have envisaged, after their All-Ireland series draw on June 16, that the two counties would dance again on the concluding afternoon of the championship.
