Seven league football finals are down for decision in Cork this weekend, with the Division 1 decider between Nemo Rangers and Carrigaline scheduled for Friday evening (Shanbally, 7.30pm).

The Clonakilty-St Michael’s Division 2 final is also fixed for Friday (Ballygarvan, 7.30pm), with the third and fourth-tier finals pencilled in for Saturday. The Division 3 decider sees Kanturk and Castletownbere clash at Ballingeary (4pm), while in Division 4, Naomh Abán and Uibh Laoire meet in Macroom (6pm).

The Cork hurling league finals are in the book for the following weekend. Charleville and county champions Sars will contest the Division 1 showpiece at Páirc Uí Rinn (7pm) on Saturday, July 13. 2023 champions St Finbarr’s and Carrigaline will do battle in the Division 2 final on Thursday, July 11, also at Páirc Uí Rinn.

For now, the first round of the Cork football championships remain slated for the final weekend of this month, July 26-28. Cork progression to the All-Ireland hurling final the weekend previous might see changes to the Friday evening PSFC first-round fixtures that involve Cork hurlers, particularly given the games involving champions Castlehaven, perennial challengers St Finbarr’s, and promoted Newcestown would involve Cork hurlers Damien and Conor Cahalane, Brian Hayes, and Luke Meade lining out five days after the All-Ireland final.

Castlehaven begin their county title defence on Friday, July 26 with a west Cork derby against Clonakilty (Rosscarbery, 7.45pm), the St Finbarr’s-Douglas southside city derby will take place at Carrigaline (7.45pm), while Newcestown’s return to the top tier opens against Éire Óg at Cloughduv (7.45pm). The other two PSFC games that Friday evening are Nemo versus Ballincollig (Ballymaw, 7.45pm), and Valley Rovers-Mallow (Glenville, 7.45pm).

The weekend's last remaining PSFC first round clash - Carbery Rangers-St Michael’s at Brinny - goes ahead on Saturday, July 27.

The far end of the Cork GAA master fixture plan shows the county hurling finals, including the Premier SHC decider, will take place on the weekend of October 19/20, with the football taking centre stage on the weekend of October 26/27.

There is a third county final weekend in the plan, November 2/3, which will likely accommodate any championships than run over because of dual involvement.
