WHEN a vote was taken by clubs and committees on Kieran McGeeney’s future back in August, the 46-16 result pointed to a resounding victory, with the official Armagh GAA statement speaking of “strong support” for his continuation.

It was a resolution that didn’t accurately reflect the mood in the lead-up to the meeting in some pockets of the Orchard County. In more than one or two club committee rooms, they voted unanimously for McGeeney’s time to end.
