Former Donegal star Michael Murphy has recounted how he was first able to sample the Croke Park pitch because of a chance meeting with Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

On learning of the legendary broadcaster’s sad passing, the 2012 All-Ireland SFC winning captain recalled how as a seven-year-old he plagued his father to bring to Croke Park when they were visiting relatives in Dunshaughlin.
