A simmering animosity between the players kept things edgy to the finish but realistically this no-back-door Munster U20 football final was tagged and bagged with a 1-3 score burst from Kerry inside eight minutes after half time.

There’s a bingo game we all tend to play with Under 20s to tick off the nascent talents we predict we’ll all be seeing again as county seniors, and as a benchmark for the future, Kerry’s third Munster U20 title on the bounce had a handful of recommendations. However, there was a sense of realism too among the natives in a crowd of 2,718 at Austin Stack Park that nobody is walking on water either.
