Laois manager Justin McNulty described the Offaly performance as “streetwise”, while his Offaly counterpart Declan Kelly bemoaned how his side had “left a bit behind them.”
If you didn’t know better, you might think from those comments that Offaly nicked a narrow win over Laois in their Leinster Championship midlands derby on Saturday night, following on from a long tradition of tight battles between these two old rivals.
