League fixtures like this can be boiled down to the fundamentals. For Kerry the task was to get a win, get some minutes into the panel, get home in one piece. Two out of three boxes were ticked on Sunday.

They cruised to a six-point victory in Dr. Hyde Park despite David Clifford blazing over a first-half penalty. Stephen O’Brien and Paul Geaney came on and scored. Armin Heinrich, Keith Evans and Sean O’Brien all featured. Size it all up and Jack O’Connor is entitled to be content with their afternoon’s work.
