At 23, Killian McGinnis isn’t exactly a new kid on the block but that is the way the game has gone for up-and-comers. Dessie Farrell was delighted to see a lengthy spell of preparation come to fruition in Pearse Stadium on Saturday.
McGinnis was handed a start at wing-forward and clipped two points in a comfortable victory over Galway. He played for Dublin’s U20s in 2020. He was part of the extended panel for the 2023 All-Ireland triumph and a standout prospect in the Sigerson Cup last winter. The Skerries Harps man also featured in the O’Byrne Cup last January. This chance was coming.
