GAA president Larry McCarthy has intimated the organisation will increase the £15 million they have committed to the rebuild of Casement Park in the wake of the Government’s proposed €50m contribution.

As part of €800m in cross-border funding, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar today announced the investment for the Belfast 34,578-capacity venue, where this week early work on cleaning and clearing the dilapidated stadium commenced.
