Peter ‘Chap’ Cleere admitted he couldn’t turn down the opportunity to manage the Kilkenny senior camogie team after fellow county man Brian Dowling stepped away last year.

Cleere, an All-Ireland senior hurling winner with the Cats in 2006 and 2007 and now a Kilkenny county councillor, took over the reins last October and will get his first taste of competitive action in UPMC Nowlan Park this afternoon (Saturday) against great rivals and All-Ireland champions Cork.
