Patrician Academy Mallow targeting first Corn Uí Mhuirí final

1998 was the occasion of Mallow’s last visit to the semi-final stage of the Munster post-primary football competition.

There was a bit of confusion following Patrician Academy Mallow’s quarter-final win last week. The question causing confusion: Had the school ever been to the Corn Uí Mhuirí semi-final enclosure?

One newspaper reported that last week’s victory secured a historic first semi-final appearance. This newspaper, for its part, and following conversation with an unsure joint-manager Eamon O’Connor, reported 1989 as the possible date of their most recent semi-final visit.
