Leinster GAA secretary Michael Reynolds suggests the winners of the provincial senior football championships should be given byes to the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

A year into the new Sam Maguire Cup format where the eight provincial finalists are joined in the round-robin format by seven counties based on their league standings and the previous season’s Tailteann Cup winners, Reynolds would like to see the provincial champions guaranteed passage beyond the groups to the last eight.
