Munster GAA chief Leddy also revealed FBD Semple Stadium will require a €4m investment for maintenance works “that are mainly maintenance in nature and will add nothing in terms of spectator or player facilities".

With income of almost €11 million including provincial senior hurling championship gate receipts of €5.391m, Munster GAA recorded a €3.2m profit in 2023 prior to funding.

After directing €2.65m in operating, capital and club development grants as well as depositing €1.75m in a strategic investment fund, the provincial council had a deficit of €1.177m for the year.
