Waterford GAA secretary Pat Flynn has warned that the rising cost of inter county teams is “not sustainable” in his annual report.

The Déise board posted a surplus of €371,053 for 2023 but spent €1,204,350 preparing their sides, an increase of €241,780 on the previous year. The senior hurlers cost €589,962 in the past season, a jump of €83,879. The senior footballers came in at €309,754, up €20,636 on 2022. The outlay on Waterford minor sides rose by €71,441.
