Rathgormack not going 'to make up the numbers' in Castlehaven showdown

Rathgormack's Captain Willie Hahessy holds the Conway Cup high much to the delight of his team-mates after their victory over defending champions the Nire in the Waterford Senior Football final.

The return of the Conway Cup to Rathgormack, after a four-year absence, saw young and old take to the streets to celebrate the Waterford SFC victory.

“We went through the village on a trailer and the crowd that followed us was unbelievable,” recalls manager Kenny Hassett. “Anyone we passed, they followed us up all the way. When you turned around, you looked down through the village and saw the crowd. A special memory; a memory that we’ll cherish.”
