AFL club Carlton have confirmed Longford’s Matt Duffy has been ruled out for twelve months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

In August, it was confirmed Duffy and Kerry’s Rob Monahan were joining Carlton as international rookies. The club visited Ireland on a recruiting mission with list boss Nick Austin, national recruiting manager Mick Agresta and dual Brownlow Medal winner Greg 'Diesel' Williams attending kicking sessions in Dublin.
