Connacht GAA 2024 championship fixtures announced

Dates and times for the 2024 Connacht senior football championship have been released.

As was the case this past season, all three quarter-finals take place over the same weekend in early April with the semi-finals scheduled two weeks later and the final at the beginning of May.

And like 2023, the games come a week after all four Allianz divisional finals are to be staged, which will be Easter next year.

In the Connacht semi-finals, Roscommon will have home advantage against the winners of Mayo and New York on April 20, a day before the Galway or London clash with Sligo or Leitrim at a venue to be determined.

Meanwhile, the Connacht Council have also confirmed their pre-season FBD pre-season competition will be run off on a knock-out basis in their Airdome in Bekan, Co Mayo.

Over the first weekend of January, Mayo will face London and Sligo take on Roscommon in the quarter-finals. The winners of those games face each other the following weekend when Galway and Leitrim clash in the other semi-final.

It has also been confirmed that the Connacht U20 football championship will be played on a round-robin basis following the recent decision at Special Congress to allow provinces organise their championships at that level as they see fit.

Beginning at the end of March, the competition will conclude in early May. All five home counties will face each other with the top team at the end qualifying for the final and the second and third-placed teams facing off in a semi-final to join them.

The U20 All-Ireland football semi-finals and final have been scheduled for the weekends of May 11/12 and May 18/19 respectively.

Quarter-finals: April 6– London v Galway, McGovern Park, Ruislip (3pm); April 7: New York v Mayo, Gaelic Park (8pm Irish time), Sligo v Leitrim, Avant Money Páirc Seán MacDiarmada (3pm).

Semi-finals: April 20 – London/Galway v Sligo/Leitrim, TBC; April 21 – Roscommon v Mayo/New York, Dr Hyde Park.

Final: May 5.

FBD Connacht competition (all games in Connacht GAA Airdome).

Quarter-finals: January 5 – Mayo v London; January 7 – Sligo v Roscommon.

Semi-final: January 12 – Leitrim v Galway; January 13 – Mayo/London v Sligo/Roscommon.

Final: January 18/19.
