Wicklow SHC Final: Bray Emmets 1-15 Carnew Emmets 2-10

Bray Emmets hurlers have created history in Wicklow by becoming the first team to win five senior championship titles in a row. They defeated Carnew by two points after a hectic final battle at Aughrim on Sunday.

They now overtake the four-in-a-row triumphs of Carnew (1978-81) and Glenealy (2010-13).

Bray had a dream start with a goal in the first minute, drilled to the net by winger Eoin McCormack.

Bray's Christy Moorehouse got his free-taking on track, scoring five of his six points from placed balls.

Carnew grew into the game and goal by midfielder Adrian Myers on 27 minutes meant we had a game on our hands. Bray clung to a 1-7 to 1-6 lead at half-time.

Carnew's Jack Doyle had to leave the fray through injury in the first half and he was a huge loss.

Bray extended their lead in the second half to five points before wingback Aaron Kinsella came with his late, late goal for Carnew. But it came too late to turn things around.

The victory makes it eight of the 10 titles on offer for Bray and they now attempt to defend the Leinster intermediate title they won in 2022.
