A proposal by Clare hurling star Shane O’Donnell is calling on the GAA to augment its insurance policies to compensate inter-county players for loss of earnings due to injury.

The Éire Óg, Ennis man, who was forced to sit out part of the 2021 season due to a concussion injury, is bringing forward a motion to the Gaelic Players Association AGM in Portlaoise this Saturday calling on the GAA, Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Camogie Association for improved injury coverage “addressing the inadequacy of the current insurance in safeguarding inter-county players from financial loss.”
