The choice reaction of Owen Mulligan Monday night on social media to Mickey Harte’s imminent appointment as Derry football manager would be shared by many in Tyrone.

“Might as well join Rangers,” Mulligan posted on X/Twitter before adding a photograph collage of Harte alongside Mo Johnston, who infamously transferred to Rangers two years after leaving Celtic, and Robert The Bruce, who betrayed William Wallace in the “Braveheart” movie if not in history.
