Linda Collins: ‘At the end of the day you’re playing camogie because you love it’
Cork captain Linda Collins lifts the cup after last month’s Munster Senior Camogie final win over Limerick at Drom & Inch GAA in Tipperary. ‘Croke Park is amazing and is a serious venue,’ she says. ‘And that’s the place you want to be playing.’
Listening to Linda Collins speak, you get a sense that captaincy rests easily on her slim shoulders. A teacher at Summercove National School in Kinsale, she is a naturally good communicator and you don’t get the impression she is one for histrionics.
Common sense is the default setting and allied with a ferocious workrate as well as ability to produce on the pitch, makes her a perfect candidate for the armband.
