Tribesmen blitz stuns Leitrim to secure final place

Galway advanced to the Connacht final with a facile win over Leitrim in Tuam. They will meet Mayo or Sligo in the final on July 5 and had victory wrapped up by the break as they led by 1-12 to 0-2. Leitrim only got their opening score in the final minute of the half from Barry McWeeney, Fergal McLoughlin quickly adding another.
But Galway were out of sight by then thanks to the efforts of Daniel Cox, James McLaughlin and Tomo Culhane, with Nathan Grainder getting the first of his two goals.
Galway finished strongly with Culhane bringing his total to 1-10 before Warren Seoige got their fifth goal in the dying monents.
