Check out this ferocious shoulder from the Monaghan club championship
The GAA breed them tough. We’ve always known that but every so often we are given a reminder.
Scotstown took on Ballybay in the Monaghan club championship at the weekend, with a place in the county final at stake.
Jacqueline O'Neill was on the sideline and was recording the game for her friend Lianna Wylie, who is currently in Australia but had three brothers playing and wanted to see the match.
As a result, Jacqueline was perfectly positioned to record a challenge so ferocious your teeth rattle just watching it.
The unstoppable force of Mark McArdle of Ballybay met the immovable object that was Scotstown's Fergal McPhillips and the collision made the entire crowd go “ooof”.
The lads on the sideline didn’t even wait for the whistle to run out and assist their players, with McPhillips eventually needing to leave the field.
Frankly, we're just amazed that even one of them managed to play on.
Hopefully the result helped soothe McPhillips' battered body; Scotstown went on to win 0-14 to 1-9.
