The term legend gets bandied around a lot in sports reporting, but how else can we describe a player who won ten All-Irelands, ten Munster titles, nine National League Division 1 titles and a National League Division 2 trophy in a 15-year intercounty career.

“I have decided to retire after a great career,” Mulcahy said.
“I have thought long and hard about it, my gut feeling is that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve out of the sport. I am quite content leaving the sport now.
The gaelic football and wider sporting community have united to praise Mulcahy’s stellar career and wish her all the best for the future.
