Kildare rocked by players' departure for USA

The Kildare senior football management has been left stunned by the news that David Hyland and Darroch Mulhall are leaving the panel for America.

Manager Jason Ryan was informed of their intentions following the heavy 19 point defeat to Dublin at headquarters on Sunday.

The Lilywhites, who have struggled this season, introduced Hyland as a first half substitute against the ‘Dubs’. Mulhall did not appear during the game.

Both players are expected to head to America for the remainder of the summer which has been a thorny issue for the association in recent times.

The departures from the panel are a blow to Kildare who have lost a number of high profile leaders including Johnny Doyle and Dermot Earley in recent seasons

Ryan, who is a highly regarded manager must lift his players for a tricky away trip against Offaly in the qualifiers at Tullamore this Saturday.
