Kerry and Cork to face off in cup final
Kerry and Cork will meet in the McGrath Cup Senior Football Final in Munster next Sunday, after wins over CIT and LIT respectively today.
Goals were key as Kerry claimed a 2-12 to 0-13 win over Cork IT at the John Mitchels GAA Club.
Kerry held a 1-7 to 0-6 interval lead, with Stephen O'Brien netting their goal.
CIT worked hard on the restart, but a second goal for the hosts helped secure victory with Barry John Keane netting for Kerry in the closing 35 minutes.
Brian Cuthbert's Cork accounted comfortably for UL by 6-16 to 0-7 in Mallow this afternoon.
The Rebels held a 3-8 to 0-5 interval lead, with Colm O'Driscoll, MÃchéal Ó Laoire and Donncha O'Connor finding the back of the UL net during the opening half.
Cork failed to yield in the second half, with goals from Daniel Goulding and Barry O'Driscoll inside 13 minutes of the restart.
The Rebels continued to prove goal hungry with Goulding bagging his second goal 14 minutes from time, to comfortably book a final berth.
