Today's hurling county finals

Carlow's Mount Leinster Rangers and Oulart the Ballagh of Wexford will meet in the AIB Leinster Club SHC Final, while Sixmilebridge advanced to the Munster decider against Na Piarsaigh of Limerick, following today's action.

At Dr. Cullen Park, Mount Leinster Rangers became the first Carlow club to reach a provincial Senior Hurling decider, following a 1-17 to 3-9 win over Ballyboden St. Enda's.

MLR bounced back from an early Gavin Corrigan goal to level the tie, but a Conor McCormack three-pointer helped Ballyboden St. Enda's to a 2-7 to 0-11 interval lead.

The sides were tied in the 44th minute, but Ballyboden failed to capitalise on a penalty strike after Paul Ryan was denied by Frank Foley.

MLR grew in confidence with an Eddie Byrne goal handing the Carlow outfit a 1-15 to 2-9 lead with 11 minutes left on the clock.

Top-scorer Denis Murphy claimed a point from a penalty to further extend Rangers advantage, after the dismissal of Ballyboden goalkeeper Gary Maguire, and although Ryan netted a penalty in injury-time it came to late for the Dublin side.

Oulart the Ballagh dug deep in the second half, to earn a 1-18 to 2-11 win over reigning Leinster champions Kilcormac-Killoughey at O'Connor Park, Tullamore.

In a repeat of last year's provincial final pairing, Kilcormac-Killoughey led by 2-6 to 0-7 at the break, with Ciaran Slevin and Dan Currams netting goals.

A Thomas Geraghty point further extended Kilcormac's lead on the restart, but Oulart bagged 1-8 without reply for the remainder of the third quarter.

David Redmond and Des Mythen were among the point-scorers, while Rory Jacob delivered Oulart's only goal, top-scoring for his side with 1-5.

Clare's Sixmilebridge booked a place in their first provincial decider since 2002 following a 1-17 to 1-13 win over Midleton at Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

An Alan Mulready goal helped Sixmilebridge to a 1-2 to 0-2 lead after 18 minutes, and they never trailed for the remainder of the contest.

Sixmilebridge led by 1-7 to 1-6 at the interval, with Conor Lehane (1-5) netting Midleton's goal just before the break.

The sides were tied at 1-9 apiece six minutes after the restart, but the Cork side failed to regain the lead, with Jamie Shanahan, Mulready, Niall Gilligan and Seadna Morey impressive in the scoring stakes for Sixmilebridge as they held out for victory.
