McMahon brought in for final

Ballymun Kickhams clubman Philly McMahon has been parachuted into the Dublin team for tomorrow's All-Ireland SFC final against Mayo at Croke Park (throw-in 3.30pm).

McMahon's inclusion at right corner back - at the expense of Kevin O'Brien - is the only change to the side that saw off Kerry's challenge at the semi-final stage earlier this month.

Ger Brennan has retained his place at centre back despite struggling to quell Colm Cooper's influence in the first half of that game. Brennan was replaced at half-time with Cian O'Sullivan moved back from midfield to mark Cooper.

However, manager Jim Gavin has kept faith with Brennan and the midfield axis of O'Sullivan and Michael Darragh Macauley, with the pair due to face off in a fascinating centre-field battle with Mayo's O'Shea brothers - Seamus and Aidan.

Dean Rock and Kevin McManamon, who have impressed as 'impact substitutes' in the Championship, remain in reserve as does the Dubs' 2011 All-Ireland winning captain Bryan Cullen who was replaced by Paddy Andrews for the semi-final.

The scoring influence of current goalkeeper and skipper Stephen Cluxton can be seen by the fact that he is Dublin's third top scorer in this year's Championship with 0-14 from placed balls. Bernard Brogan leads the way with 1-16, with youngster Paul Mannion not far behind on 3-6.

Tomorrow's Dublin v Mayo clash will be the first between the counties in an All-Ireland final since 1921 when Dublin won by 1-9 to 0-2. The counties have met twice in All-Ireland semi-finals over the last seven years with Mayo winning both in 2006 and 2012.

DUBLIN (SFC v Mayo): Stephen Cluxton (capt); Philly McMahon, Rory O'Carroll, Jonny Cooper; James McCarthy, Ger Brennan, Jack McCaffrey; Michael Darragh Macauley, Cian O'Sullivan; Paul Flynn, Ciarán Kilkenny, Diarmuid Connolly; Paul Mannion, Paddy Andrews, Bernard Brogan.
