Draw made for SFC qualifiers
GAA President Liam O'Neill and former Dublin midfielder Ciaran Whelan were at the helm as the draw for the opening round of the All-Ireland SFC first round qualifiers was made this morning.
O'Neill and Whelan drew out the teams live on RTÉ Radio 1's 'Morning Ireland' programme, with Louth and Westmeath set for a repeat of their recent Leinster Championship duel.
There are two more provincial derbies in Laois v Carlow and Fermanagh v Cavan, while London, conquerors of Fermanagh in last year's qualifiers, will have home advantage against another Ulster side Antrim.
Arguably the tie of the round is the meeting of Longford and Derry who also clashed in the 2002 and 2006 qualifiers. Derry are hoping to recover from their poor showing against Ulster champions on Saturday.
As Tipperary, Longford, Westmeath and Fermanagh had away draws in the 2011 first round qualifiers, those four teams will be at home in the upcoming games.
The first round matches are scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 30. The venues and throw-in times will be confirmed by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee tomorrow.
Laois v Carlow
