Tipperary are set to rejig their defence for Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 semi-final against Cork with captain Paul Curran reportedly struggling with a knee injury.

Curran has sustained knee cartilage damage and will not be part of Declan Ryan's plans for the rematch with the Rebels.

The Mullinahone clubman played at full-back in the 1-23 to 1-23 draw between the sides at the start of the month.

A three to four-week lay-off looks likely for Curran, and Ryan will be keen to have him back in time for Tipp's Munster Championship opener against Limerick on May 27.

Curran's defensive colleague Donagh Maher has a hamstring problem and is doubtful for this weekend's game in Thurles, along with midfielder James Woodlock (back).
