Meath, Mayo and London register wins
Leinster rivals Meath and Kildare will contest the Allianz Hurling League Division 2B final following today's final round action which saw Meath, Mayo and London register wins.
At Middletown, visitors Meath were always in control in their 1-19 to 0-8 win over Armagh. Their third victory of the campaign saw them finish second in the final table behind Kildare.
Cillian Farrell's Royal charges led by 0-9 to 0-6 at half-time, with Stephen Clynch (0-2) among their five first half scorers.
Clynch added three points to his tally on the restart, in a half which saw six different players on target for the Royals. Kiltale clubman James Kelly netted the only goal of the game late in this contest.
Keith Higgins played his second game in the space of 24 hours at McHale Park in Castlebar, and it again finished on a winning note as the Mayo hurlers claimed a 1-20 to 0-19 victory over table toppers Kildare.
Higgins, who featured in Mayo's Allianz Football League Division 1 win over Dublin last night, captained the hurling side to their second win which secured their Division 2B status for another year.
Mayo led by 0-12 to 0-11 at half-time, with Kenny Feeney impressive from placed balls. The 21-year-old Toureen clubman finished with 11 points in a game which was evenly balanced throughout.
Paul Divilly bagged most of the visitors' scores in the opening half. Stephen Hoban netted for the Connacht men with 14 minutes remaining.
Martin Fitzgerald had a goal chance for Kildare directly after Hoban's strike, but he pulled his effort wide of the target.
Meanwhile, a hat-trick of goals helped London gain a crucial 3-22 to 2-14 win over Roscommon at Athleague.
London led by 2-11 to 0-7 at half-time, but bottom side Roscommon staged a strong comeback on the restart
Former All-Ireland Poc Fada champion Gerry Fallon netted two 21-metre frees, but the Exiles held out for a victory which sees them finish fourth overall.
Sixth-placed Roscommon and Armagh, who ended the league run in fifth spot, will meet in the relegation play-off to decide who drops down a division.
