McGrath installed as new Waterford selector
Former Waterford hurler Ken McGrath has been appointed as a selector for the county's senior hurling panel, replacing Nicky Cashin whose departure was announced yesterday.
Cashin stepped down 'for personal reasons', accoring to Waterford manager Michael Ryan whose side face a 'must win' clash with Galway in the Allianz Hurling League on Sunday.
McGrath will link up with the squad ahead of this weekend's Division 1A match, after Ryan confirmed the former All-Star's appointment to local radio station WLRfm Sport.
McGrath, who turned 34 last month, had a stellar playing career with Mount Sion and Waterford.
With the Déise, the durable defender played from 1996 to 2011 and won four Munster SHC titles, a National League crown and three All-Star awards during that time.
