Royals notch League win in London
Meath 2-08 London 0-07
A brace of first half goals helped Meath to victory over London in Division 2B of the Allianz Hurling League at Ruislip yesterday.
Cillian Farrell's charges failed to let the long journey to the English capital phase them, as they claimed their first win of the current league campaign.
Despite playing against a stiff wind Meath led by 2-2 to 0-5 at the interval, with the Royals always holding the extra edge in the opening 35 minutes.
David Raleigh claimed the visitors' first goal, as they led by 1-2 to 0-3 after 20 minutes.
10 minutes later, the London goalmouth was breached for a second time as a Nicky Horan goal pushed Meath 2-2 to 0-4 in front.
London ralled with a point before half-time, but Meath responded with two points inside 10 minutes of the restart.
Four points separated the sides with five minutes remaining, but Meath finished strongly by claiming the final two points to ensure a double scores win.
