Jimmy Barry-Murphy has paired league debutant Darren Sweetnam and Seán Óg Ó hAilpín together in midfield for Cork's opening Allianz Hurling League encounter with Waterford on Saturday night.
Ó hAilpín is listed at centre-field for the floodlit Division 1A opener at Páirc Uí Rinn (throw-in 7pm), partnering Dohenys clubman Sweetnam who was a Cork minor just last year.
Sweetnam will be making his first league start as will Kilbrittain's Ross Cashman who won Munster and All-Ireland Hurling titles with the Rebels in 2009.
Newly-installed captain Donal Óg Cusack will be stationed between the posts once again, with Stephen McDonnell from Glen Rovers manning the full-back berth.
From the team that lost the recent Waterford Crystal Cup semi-final to Tipperary, Shane O'Neill and William Egan have also been restored to the defence.
Conor Lehane and Cathal Naughton will flank Pa Cronin in Cork's half-forward line, and Cloyne's Paudie O'Sullivan is listed at full-forward alongside Patrick Horgan and Ben O'Connor.
Dual player Eoin Cadogan, Niall McCarthy and Cian McCarthy all miss out through injury, while the retired Ronan Curran and Jerry O'Connor are also notable absentees.
