Limerick claimed top spot in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League this afternoon, while there were also wins on the day for Leitrim and Fermanagh.

The Shannonsiders had to dig deep on home soil at the Gaelic Grounds before running out 1-13 to 1-07 winners over London.

The Exiles were forced to play the bulk of this game with 14 men, following the fourth minute dismissal of Cavan native Lorcan Mulvey.

However, the visitors kept in touch with a penalty goal from Padraig McGoldrick leaving the score-line at 1-04 to 0-07 at the break.

Ian Ryan scored 1-06 for eventual winners Limerick, who pulled clear in the second half.

A goal in either half was crucial for Leitrim as they carved out a 2-09 to 0-13 victory over Carlow at Dr Cullen Park.

The sides were tied at 0-03 apiece after 15 minutes, but Leitrim's first goal put the visitors in the driving seat.

Carlow battled back to tie the contest at 0-08 to 1-05 at half-time and took the lead for the first time on the resumption.

However, Leitrim got on top once more after James Glancy netted a penalty goal, with the visitors holding out to take the spoils.

At Brewster Park in Enniskillen, Fermanagh beat Clare 0-11 to 0-08 after putting in a strong second half comeback.

Clare led by 0-05 to 0-02 at half-time, but the introduction of Shane McCabe inspired Peter Canavan's charges who kicked eight unanswered points in the second half.

Paul Ward landed a trio of scores for the hosts and Seamus Quigley tallied up six points.
