The students will meet college opposition in the semi-finals after GMIT claimed a hard-earned 1-17 to 1-16 win over Kildare after extra-time at St Conleth's Park, Newbridge on Saturday.
Kildare led by 1-3 to 0-4 after 19 minutes of normal time, aided by a goal from Chris Bonus. However, just a point separated the sides at the break (1-7 to 1-6), with Kenny Feeney claiming the students' goal.

GMIT were strongest in extra-time, with Kildare losing Paudie Reidy to a second yellow card.
Meanwhile, in the Kehoe Shield, Fingal advanced to the decider following their 1-12 to 1-8 win over Louth at Darver yesterday.
Louth were reduced to 14 men after defender Adrian Wallace was shown his second yellow card in the 21st minute.
The hosts led early in the second half thanks a Brian Corcoran goal and although they added further points, they were held scoreless for a 17-minute spell, with JM Sheridan (0-5) and Andy Richardson (1-1) paving the way for a Fingal win.
Willie Burke's charges will have to wait to see who they will face in the decider, after the other semi-final between Roscommon and Armagh, scheduled for Athleague today, was called off.
