Keaney suffers ankle injury in accident
The Dublin County Board have confirmed that Conal Keaney sustained an ankle injury in a traffic accident earlier today.
Earlier reports of a broken ankle have been revised after Dublin officials received more information about the injury.
The injury rules him out of Sunday's All-Ireland SHC quarter-final showdown with Limerick in Thurles.
Ryan O'Dwyer, who is back from suspension, could start in his place, while a fit-again David Treacy is also in contention.
Dublin manager Anthony Daly is due to name his starting line-up for the game after a puckaround tonight.
It is understood that Keaney, who was travelling to work on a motorbike, hurt his leg when he was accidentally struck by a van this morning.
He was brought to Tallaght Hospital and after undergoing X-rays, a cracked bone in his ankle was revealed.
The Ballyboden St. Enda's clubman was ever-present during the Dubs' Leinster Championship campaign this summer, scoring 0-5 mainly from wing forward.
He helped them end their long wait for an Allianz Hurling League title earlier in the year, and is a huge loss as they try to qualify for their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1948.
