Hutchinson to miss Munster final
Waterford hurler Wayne Hutchinson is set to be sidelined for up to six weeks after breaking a bone in his hand.
Hutchinson sustained a hand injury in Ballygunner's Waterford Championship win over Passage at Walsh Park last Sunday and subsequent X-rays revealed the fracture.
A lay-off of four to six weeks rules him out of Davy Fitzgerald's plans for the Munster SHC final against Tipperary on Sunday, July 10.
Hutchinson made his Championship debut in the recent semi-final win over Limerick, starting at full-back before being replaced by Jamie Nagle in the 54th minute.
Michael 'Brick' Walsh dropped back to fill the full-back position in the second half of the Limerick game, while U-21 full-back Darragh Fives and the fit-again Liam Lawlor are also options for the number 3 jersey.
An ankle injury kept Lawlor out of Waterford's Championship opener but he is back in full training after successfully coming through Fourmilewater's win over Ballyduff Upper last weekend.
Meanwhile, Páirc Uà Chaoimh in Cork has been confirmed as the venue for the Munster decider between Waterford and Tipp, with a 4pm throw-in time.
The throw-in times and venues for the All-Ireland SHC second phase qualifiers have also been announced.
On Saturday week, Limerick and Wexford will battle it out at the Gaelic Grounds (throw-in 5pm), while the Galway v Clare encounter has been pencilled in for Pearse Stadium that evening at 7pm.
