Bans for Dalton and Larkin

Kilkenny's John Dalton and Eoin Larkin has been hit with suspensions by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee this evening.

The CCCC reviewed video footage of the incidents involving both players during last Sunday's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final between Dublin and Kilkenny.

Dalton has had a ban of eight weeks proposed, having been seen to knock Dublin's Conor McCormack to the ground just after he had a goal disallowed.

The Kilkenny defender made contact with his hurley and appeared to kick out at McCormack. The suspension will see Dalton sit out Kilkenny's Leinster SHC semi-final against either Antrim, Laois or Wexford on June 11.

Former Hurler of the Year Larkin had been sent off in the 25th minute of Sunday's final for lashing out at McCormack in another off the ball incident.

He has received a four-week suspension but his forward colleague Richie Hogan, who was pictured raising an arm to Dublin's Joey Boland, has escaped censure.
