Kerry's Moran to miss rest of season
It has been confirmed that young Kerry midfielder David Moran suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury in yesterday's Division 1 victory over Monaghan in Inniskeen.
Moran made way for Seamus Scanlon in the 53rd minute and the full extent of the injury - a torn cruciate ligament - was revealed by a scan today at the Santry Clinic in Dublin.
A statement from the Kerry County Board said that the Kerins O'Rahillys clubman will be sidelined for the rest of Kerry's Allianz Football League and the entire 2011 Championship.
A son of Kingdom legend Ogie Moran, he had been a key figure in Kerry's league campaign this year, making five starts and one appearance off the bench.
In recent games he partnered both Scanlon and Anthony Maher in the Kerry engine room, and raided forward to score some fine points - including efforts against Cork, Dublin, Galway and Armagh.
